Perhaps the most glowing endorsement comes from tire dealers. Several who attended our ride-and-drive launch event in Las Vegas told us they want to drive the Surpass AS01 full-time.
“I might even put some on my car,” said Marc Racine from Pnues DLL in Quebec. “I’m convinced.”

“A few laps behind the wheel of a Toyota Supra equipped with the rubber revealed all the attributes you’d beg for in a sporty tire,” he wrote. “Stability at high speeds, steady, predictable breakaway characteristics, and lots of noise when you push the tire past its limit.”
Popular automotive magazine Car and Driver agreed.
“Nokian claims the tire will be a good year-round option for owners who daily-drive premium, powerful vehicles and like to have some fun on curvy roads,” said writer Caleb Miller. “Our experience with the AS01…seems to support that belief.”
North of the border, Canadians are raving about the Finland-made tire, too.
“It was easy to grab these Nokians by the scruff of the neck to haul them back in line with ample mechanical grip,” said Matthew Guy for Driving.ca. “A long, sweeping corner soaked with water revealed the tire’s propensity to claw grip as the driving instructor riding shotgun encouraged us to go faster.”
