Dave Johnston Joins Nokian Tyres as Director of Portfolio, Pricing and Business Planning

Johnston, a leader in the tire industry for nearly 30 years, will lead the company’s product strategy in North America

DAYTON, Tenn. – Nokian Tyres has hired Dave Johnston to serve as Portfolio, Pricing and Business Planning Director for North America. His tenure began September 29.

Johnston will lead Nokian Tyres’ product strategy in North America, serving as a liaison between customers and the company’s global product development process. His department also manages Nokian Tyres’ warranty claims process and educates customers and consumers about the company’s innovative winter, all-season and all-weather products.

A leader in the tire industry since 1997, Johnston’s extensive experience includes 25 years in sales and product leadership roles in the United States and Canada. He most recently worked as National Director of Major Accounts at Mighty Auto Parts in the Atlanta area.

“Dave’s deep experience and strong relationships in the tire industry will be an asset as we enhance our product strategy to meet our customers’ needs,” said Senior Vice President of North America Chris Ostrander. “His technical expertise, combined with his executive sales and go-to-market strategy experience, provides Nokian Tyres’ North American business and its clients a unique asset that will help accelerate our growth efforts in the United States and Canada.”

“It is an honor to join the Nokian Tyres team and represent a brand I have long respected, dating back to helping sell the first all-weather tire in 1999,” Dave said. “I am excited to help show the value of the Nokian Tyres brand to our customers and to incorporate dealers’ insight into our product development and long-term strategy process.”

In recent years, Nokian Tyres has introduced several new products it exclusively sells in North America. They include the all-season Nokian Tyres One, the all-terrain Outpost Family and the all-weather Remedy WRG5. Every latest-generation tire it produces for the North American market is infused with puncture-resistant Aramid fibers and comes with a Pothole Protection warranty.

New products are helping the company raise awareness in North America and beyond. Brand Finance named Nokian Tyres the fastest-growing tire brand in the world in its May 2025 report.
