# Nokian Tyres
> Nokian Tyres is a Finnish tire manufacturer and the inventor of the winter tire. We specialize in premium winter, all-weather, all-season, and all-terrain tires for passenger cars, SUVs, light trucks, and vans. Our North American headquarters and manufacturing facility is located in Dayton, Tennessee.
Nokian Tyres has been manufacturing tires since 1932 and invented the winter tire in 1934. We are known for our innovative tire technologies including Arctic Grip Crystals, Aramid Sidewall technology, and our commitment to sustainable manufacturing. Our products are designed and tested in the harshest winter conditions at our world-renowned Ivalo Test Center in Finnish Lapland.
